Archery

Archery
Archery is the art, sport, practice, or skill of using a bow to shoot arrows. The word comes from the Latin arcus. Historically, archery has been used for hunting and combat. In modern times, it is mainly a competitive sport and recreational activity. A person who participates in archery is typically called an archer or a bowman, and a person who is fond of or an expert at archery is sometimes called a toxophilite.

Average Archery fees
Archery will only be as expensive as you make it. There are great beginner bows with prices ranging from $200-$400 dollars. Intermediate bows from $400-$700 and up, and of course the high end bows that can be 1,000 dollars and more. A half dozen arrows can cost anywhere from 30 dollars to hundreds of dollars.

Equipmets for Archery

  1. Armguard. A guard on the arm to provide protection from abrasion when an arrow is released.
A bracer (or arm-guard) is a strap or sheath, commonly made of leather, stone, or plastic that covers the inside of an archer's arm to protect it while shooting.

Here is the list of best archery armguard available on the market today.
  • Bear Archery Armguard.

  1. Arrow.
An arrow usually consists of a shaft with an arrowhead attached to the front end, with fletchings and a nock at the other. Modern arrows are usually made from carbon fibre, aluminum, fiberglass, and wood shafts. Carbon shafts have the advantage that they do not bend or warp, but they can often be too light weight to shoot from some bows and are expensive.

  1. Bows.

A bow consists of a semi-rigid but elastic arc with a high-tensile bowstring joining the ends of the two limbs of the bow. An arrow is a projectile with a pointed tip and a long shaft with stabilizer fins (fletching) towards the back, with a narrow notch (nock) at the very end to contact the bowstring.

  1. Chestguard.
Archers wear chest guards for a variety of reasons. The most common reason archers wear these is to keep their chest or clothing out of the way, or protect their chest from the string. If you have a flat chest or the bowstring doesn't come in contact with your chest, you may not need a chest guard.

  1. Finger tab or shooting glove.

In archery, a finger tab or archer tab is a small leather or synthetic patch that protects an archer's fingers from the bowstring. It is strapped or otherwise attached to an archer's hand. In summertime, tabs are far more comfortable than gloves and can more conveniently use thicker material.

  1. Quiver.
quiver is a container for holding arrows, bolts, darts, or javelins. It can be carried on an archer's body, the bow, or the ground, depending on the type of shooting and the archer's personal preference.

Scope in Archery
The income range for professional archers is: $10,000 – $75,000, for Olympic archers: $36,000 – $97,000. While top end of earning looks pretty good, the median in the US for all pro athletes is only $31,922.
